Welcome to my personal Blog!
I was named Harry Jackson Clark II, when I showed up in 1950. My parents really didn’t have any choice in the matter. My great grandfather, Harry Jackson, had been a pioneer blacksmith and had been something of a small town tycoon legend in Durango, Colorado. On the morning I was born, my parents received a telegraph from Josephine Dudley, the grandmother of my lifelong friend Buzz Weidman. It read, “Congratulations and welcome to young Harry Jackson.”
They must have decided to go with the name, but the middle one, which was my father’s middle name as well, stuck with me.
I grew up in Durango, was a pretty good student, average high school athlete, fairly good actor (played Romeo once), and a good skier (which led to the end of my high school basketball career...a good thing for everyone!)
The University of Colorado was the perfect school where I majored in Journalism. this was followed by several years of teaching skiing in the winters at Purgatory ski area and buying and selling Navajo rugs and Indian jewelry in the summers. The perfect life.
Then I broke my neck skiing and ended up working full time in the Indian Arts and Crafts business, founding Toh-Atin Gallery with my parents and sister, Antonia. There is more about that business and the wonderful people we work with on the Toh-Atin blog. There is a link on the home page if you’d like to check it out.
I have two wonderful children and two great grandchildren!
Through all of life, it is friends, family, experience and beliefs that take you to the next stage of your life. I am thankful for everything that has taken me to where I am today.
In this blog, I will share a few experiences from the past, but mostly it will be about today and where we are going, because that is all that matters. If we screwed up or if we were heros in the past, so what? Save the memories, but it’s what is happening tomorrow that is important, so I’ll focus on that!
Three years ago, I was introduced to a product that has changed my life. I didn’t have a religious experience or anything like that, but I regained energy, got rid of aches and pains, I sleep better and just feel like I’m ten years younger. (And when you are hitting 60, that’s saying something!) And, its given me another avenue to create financial abundance. So, I will be telling a few stories about Monavie and the Acai berry on this blog. I’m addicted to it and know that everyone on the planet should be too!
So, thanks for checking in. It’s going to be fun and I’m excited about sharing and learning.
